2018年AWで2シーズン目に突入した、BLUE BLUEとJ.PRESSのコラボレートコレクション。2つのブランドが融合する部分として、核となる〈1967〉年のキーワードがある。
聖林公司代表のゲン垂水氏が、「ぶらじる丸」でカリフォルニア・ロングビーチへの旅に歩を進め出港した年。同じくその年号J.PRESSが保有する〈1967〉年の貴重なブローシャーを基軸にデザインが施され、当時のアメリカ的な古き良きディテールを踏襲しつつ、伝統のファブリックや製法で今シーズンも質実剛健なウエアが展開される。
今季はLOVAT社とJ.PRESSが共同開発したオリジナルファブリック〈LAVEROCK TWEED -ラブロックツイード-〉採用の3ピースも新たに登場。更に、ダブルネームのロゴが配されたタイバーとピンバッチ、ピン留め刺繍エンブレムのアクセサリー類にも要注目。
1902年に創業したJ.PRESSが、世紀を跨いで116年もの間生き抜いてきた伝統のウエアは、各時代のスタイルアイコンにも愛され共に進化してきた。動乱の時代を歩んだジョン・F・ケネディ、ビル・クリントンなど、政界の重鎮にも愛された。ロバート・レッドフォードは映画の衣装に迷わず選んだ。

The BLUE BLUE × J.PRESS collaboration collection entered its second season in Autumn/Winter 2018. A key element uniting these two brands is the year 1967.
This was the year when Gen Tarumizu, the representative of Seilin & Co., set off on a journey to Long Beach, California aboard the Brazil Maru. At the same time, J.PRESS owned a valuable 1967 brochure, which served as the foundation for this collection's designs. The pieces incorporate the classic American details of that era, while maintaining the traditional fabrics and craftsmanship that continue to define J.PRESS’s commitment to quality.
This season, a new three-piece suit made with LAVEROCK TWEED, an original fabric jointly developed by LOVAT and J.PRESS, has been introduced. Additionally, accessories such as tie bars, pin badges, and embroidered emblems featuring a dual-branded logo are also highlights of the collection.
Founded in 1902, J.PRESS has survived over 116 years, evolving alongside the style icons of each generation. Its garments have been worn and cherished by key political figures, including John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton, and were even chosen by Robert Redford for his film wardrobe without hesitation.
A "traditional" style may appear rigid at first glance, but the rules established by English and American gentlemen over time are profound and rewarding to explore.
