吉祥寺にある江口洋品店・江口時計店には、ここでしか出会えないヴィンテージ時計を求めて多くの人が足を運ぶ。アパレルに関しては、エルメス、シャネル、バーバリーといったヨーロッパのメゾンブランドのヴィンテージが揃えられている。
静謐な店内には、一般的な古着屋ではなかなか見ることのできない"本物"の時計や洋服が並んでいた。そんな空間の中で、今回は店長の江口大介氏にJ.プレスのセットアップを着こなしてもらった。

江口洋品店・江口時計店は、店舗を構えて約3年のショップだ。その誕生のきっかけについて、江口氏はこう語る。
「ヴィンテージウォッチが好きだったんですが、どこで購入すればいいのか分からなかったし、アフターメンテナンスにも不安がありました。それが店を始めるきっかけでした」
さらに、こう続ける。
「同じようにヴィンテージウォッチを好む人たちに向けて、ファッションと絡めた形で時計を提案できたらいいなと考えるようになったんです。特にカルティエの時計なんかはその代表ですね」
実際、ショーケースにはカルティエのヴィンテージウォッチが数多く並び、店の奥にはリペア工房も設けられ、そこで修理・メンテナンスが行われているという。

江口氏とJ.プレスの関係は長い。
「父親がJ.プレスをはじめとするアメリカントラッドを常に着ている人だったので、私も小さい頃から自然と着ていました」
今回のスタイリングでも、Tシャツの上にさらりと羽織るような着こなしを披露し、カジュアルさと上品さが共存するスタイルを見せてくれた。
「今日のセットアップは、程よいサイズ感が洒落ていますね。現代の時代感にマッチしていると感じます」

江口氏のファッションの根底にあるのは、バイカースタイル、つまりアメカジのスタンダード。その延長線上にアメリカントラッド（アメトラ）を捉えているからこそ、彼の着こなしが映えるのだ。
「今でも紺ブレをはじめ、定番の洋服が好きで、機会があればジャケットもよく着ています」
本当に良い洋服や時計を身につけたいと考える人に向けたアイテムが揃う江口洋品店・江口時計店と、J.プレスの服。その間には、互いに通じ合うアティチュードがあるのかもしれない。

Many people visit Eguchi Clothing & Watch Store in Kichijoji in search of vintage watches that can’t be found anywhere else. In terms of apparel, the store carries European vintage pieces from maison brands such as Hermès, Chanel, and Burberry. Inside the tranquil shop, genuine watches and clothing—items rarely seen in ordinary vintage stores—are beautifully displayed.
On this occasion, we asked store manager Daisuke Eguchi to style a J. Press suit.

Eguchi Clothing & Watch Store has been in business for about three years. The motivation behind starting the store was Eguchi’s personal struggle:
"I've always loved vintage watches, but I never knew where to buy them or how to ensure proper aftercare and maintenance. That was my starting point."
From there, his vision evolved:
"I started thinking it would be great to introduce watches in a way that connects them with fashion, especially for people who share my love for vintage timepieces—particularly Cartier watches."
Indeed, the showcase prominently features a variety of vintage Cartier watches, and at the back of the store, a workshop has been set up for repairs and maintenance.

Eguchi’s relationship with J. Press dates back to his childhood:
"My father always wore American traditional brands like J. Press, so I was dressed in them from a young age."
His styling reflects a mix of casual ease and refined elegance, effortlessly throwing on a T-shirt with a J. Press blazer.
"The fit of today’s suit is just right—not too tight, not too loose. It has a sophisticated look that aligns well with contemporary fashion trends."

At the core of Eguchi’s fashion sense is biker-style fashion, which is essentially an extension of classic American casual. This perspective allows him to integrate American traditional (Ametora) elements seamlessly into his personal style.
"I still love timeless pieces like navy blazers, and whenever I get the chance, I enjoy wearing jackets."
The philosophy behind his store and J. Press clothing share a common attitude—both cater to individuals who appreciate authentic and high-quality attire and timepieces.
